Sol Design Studio (Sol) was selected from a list talented firms to work with Sun City Center Association on amplifying their existing campus. The project included: Information Building - 1,000 sqft, Multi-Purpose Building - 7,000 sqft, Cafe’ and Wine Bar - 3,000 sqft, Library Expansion - 2,000 sqft, Multipurpose building - 20,000 sqft, Unknown sized Future Expansion Project.
Sol began updating the Master Planning of the campus in 2019 with the SCCCA to locate the New Multipurpose building, and allocate the space for a future project on the Golf Course property. Working with the Building Committee in a series of workshops, Sol outlined a plan to reshape and enhance the campus.
The Design Concept stems directly from reacting to the boulevards. The Master Planning plays off the main office building’s central atrium acting as the nexus intersection of the two major pedestrian boulevards. The building design itself reacts to these dynamic forces in how it lifts itself away from the Stone base element. The roof weaves in and around the building creating visual points of interest that designate entrance and hierarchy.
