Built in 1962, Sol Design Studio (Sol) was requested to design the reconfiguration of the church to move the sanctuary from the north end to the south end. The interior redesign focus was increasing the light within the church. The reconfiguration opened up the large mosaic window and brought more natural light to the interior. The church interior was remodeled with new fixtures and lighter finishes.
Select areas within the sanctuary were included in the work, an ADA compliant restroom at the north end of the church, relocate choir space, add baptismal area in the entry, rework stage, reconfiguring sanctuary seating to accommodate baptismal and choir, widen entry, review waste to sewer connection, and interior finishes.
The reconfiguration was part of the continuing program, Sol conducted with the Parish in 2015, to improve campus circulation and improve visibility from the adjoining major Avenue.
