Fresh, fast, healthy and tasty all describe Fresh Kitchen’s new dining concept. Sol Design Studio (Sol) was engaged to collaborate with the Client on the design of the restaurant’s exterior and interior for the new dining concept and also provide patrons with a friendly-dining environment, all on a start-up budget. Defined as a fast-serve restaurant, Fresh Kitchen is focused on take-out while offering casual indoor and outdoor dining.
Sol and the Client worked closely to renovate an existing space on trendy Howard Ave in Tampa, FL to accommodate a buffet-ordering area and sit-down eating areas. The design team focused on the flow of the floor plan, critical to meeting the patrons’ expectations of “fast.” The café height tables and chairs accommodate limited indoor seating. The cozy outdoor patio provides seating with water misters and piped-in music. The design palette utilizes fresh-clean colors of nature and materials to play off the menu’s healthy and fresh ingredients with a touch of pink to excite the eye, as does the food.
The outdoor chairs have a design reminiscent of tree branches. The use of artificial grass on the walls adds a playful and yes “fresh” feel to the atmosphere. Custom light fixtures were designed incorporating basic everyday materials to emphasize the natural quality of the menu. Reviews have been very positive, “Went there this afternoon on a whim and was impressed with the selection, atmosphere and service,” “Cool Vibe” and “the line may look intimidating but you will be out with a delicious FRESH meal in under 8 min.”
